About this kit
The Tough Dog GQ/GU Patrol LWB kit is built around 45mm bore adjustable shocks and progressive-rate coil springs, engineered specifically for the long-wheelbase GQ (Y60) and GU (Y61) Patrol — the same underlying vehicle sold in Japan and the Middle East as the Nissan Safari. Every component on this page is sourced to the exact Tough Dog application code for your lift height, so front and rear stay matched.
Choose your coil rate based on what the vehicle carries day to day — bar and winch setups need the reinforced "Steel Bar & Winch" spring, everything else runs standard. Above 100mm, castor correction and a rear transmission spacer become mandatory to keep driveline angles safe.

Tailshaft note
Any Patrol lifted 100mm or more needs the rear tailshaft flipped front-to-back to keep clearance from the cross member. Budget for this in your install time.
